About this collection

The designs we chose for a nursery: clouds, sleeping animals, open skies and soft pastel tones. All are hand-drawn by Nihan Minareci, printed to the measurements of your wall, and made to stay with the room from the baby years through preschool. They are printed with water-based HP Latex inks on 300 gsm non-woven paper, so the print is odorless.

More information

The designs on this page are the ones we picked for a nursery from all our ready-made designs. If you would like a mural drawn from scratch for your room, we also make custom designs.

How to choose nursery wallpaper

Nursery wallpaper is chosen a little differently from kids room wallpaper. In the first months a baby looks at the wall for a long time, and there is not much else in the room to look at yet, like a colorful rug or toys. So the wall only needs to be calm and offer a few sweet things to look at. These four questions make the choice easier.

1. Few figures, plenty of space

What the designs we chose for a nursery have in common is the space they leave between figures. Single-pattern murals like the Clouds series soften the room without filling it, while scenes like Dream or Bunnies & Cotton Clouds place a few figures across a wide sky. The space also leaves room for the shelves, pictures and toys that come as the baby grows. We wrote about this in our article on leaving open space.

2. Color: pastel, but not washed out

Beige, powder pink, light mint, grey-blue and cream are the most popular colors for a nursery; they soften the light in the room and go easily with textiles. In series where we offer the same pattern in ten colors, you can choose by the direction the room faces: warm tones (beige, powder pink) feel more balanced in north-facing rooms, cool tones (mint, grey-blue) in sunny rooms. Colors on screen are not exactly the same as the print, so for light tones we recommend ordering a sample before you decide. Our detailed article on color: nursery wallpaper color.

3. The wall behind the crib

In most nurseries the wallpaper goes on the wall behind the crib. The crib covers the lower part of the wall, so make sure the figure you love (the moon, a balloon, a sleeping bunny) is not hidden behind it. When you order, you enter your wall measurements in the preview on the product page, and you can place a crib to scale to see which part will show. You can slide the design up or down on the wall, so the figures sit at the baby's eye level.

4. What happens when the baby grows?

A nursery becomes a kids room in two or three years. The designs on this page were chosen with that in mind: clouds, skies and animal families don't look babyish at four or five. Later, when a bed, a desk and shelves come in, the design stays in the background and doesn't compete with the room. And if you change your mind, the non-woven paper peels off dry, strip by strip.

Paper, ink and smell

The question we hear most about nurseries is whether the print smells. Our wallpaper murals are printed on an HP Latex system with water-based inks, so the print is odorless. The HP Latex print system holds GREENGUARD Gold and UL ECOLOGO certifications; these certifications belong to the print system. The paper is 300 gsm non-woven: lightly textured, breathable and wipeable with a damp cloth. It contains a small amount of PVC so that it can be wiped; it is not a full vinyl coating and it lets the wall breathe. For our materials and approach, see our Why Craft Paper page.

Every figure is reviewed through a child's eyes

Every design is hand-drawn by Nihan Minareci; we don't use stock images or AI-generated art. Each new figure is reviewed with child development specialist Esin Karataş Ergin through a child's eyes: the expressions, the poses, the symbols in the composition. Which themes suit a room where a child sleeps is part of that review too. We describe the process on our About Us page.

Size and price

You order wallpaper by the width and height of your wall, not by the number of rolls. A 5 cm (2 in) safety margin is added to each edge and is not added to the price; the price is based only on the wall area. For example, a crib wall 2.8 m (about 9 ft 2 in) wide and 2.6 m (about 8 ft 6 in) high is 7.28 m² (about 78 sq ft), and the product page shows the total for your wall as soon as you enter your measurements. In Türkiye the price is 1,250 TL/m², with VAT and shipping included; for the US, import duties are included and shipping is calculated at checkout. A single roll is at most 103.5 cm (about 40.7 in) wide; wider walls come in rolls of equal width, with the design continuing from roll to roll. If measuring feels tricky, see our measuring guide, and if you are curious about installation, see our installation guide.

Nursery wallpaper FAQ

When should nursery wallpaper go up?

The easiest time is while the room is still empty, before the furniture arrives. Because the print is odorless, there is no waiting period in the room after installation; once your installer has finished, airing the room for a day while the paste dries is enough.

Which wallpaper color is right for a nursery?

Pastel tones like beige, powder pink, light mint and grey-blue are the most popular. Choose by the light in the room: a warm tone feels more balanced in a room with little light, a cool tone in a sunny room. If you can't decide, look at the 30 × 30 cm (12 × 12 in) sample in your own room's light.

Is wallpaper safe for a nursery? Does it smell?

The print is made with water-based HP Latex inks and is odorless; the simplest test is that you smell nothing when you smell the paper. The paper is breathable non-woven. Your installer chooses the paste; we recommend asking for a water-based, solvent-free wallpaper paste.

Can it go on just the wall behind the crib?

Yes, that is the most common choice. You enter the width and height of the wall, and the paper is printed to that size. When two walls are covered the room feels more complete; for the second wall you can choose a quieter part of the same design or a simple cloud pattern.

Should the wallpaper be changed when the baby grows?

The designs on this page were chosen so they can stay as the child grows; clouds and animal families still suit a four- or five-year-old. If you want to change it, the non-woven paper peels off dry, strip by strip; the wall may need a small touch-up.

How much does nursery wallpaper cost?

The price is based on the wall area. A 2.8 × 2.6 m (about 9 ft 2 in × 8 ft 6 in) crib wall is 7.28 m² (about 78 sq ft); in Türkiye that is 9,100 TL at 1,250 TL/m² with VAT and shipping included, and for the US the price with import duties included is shown on the product page. The safety margin and the number of rolls don't change the price. When you enter your measurements on the product page, you see the total right away.
